- DirectorWes CravenStarsHeather LangenkampJohnny DeppRobert EnglundTeenager Nancy Thompson must uncover the dark truth concealed by her parents after she and her friends become targets of the spirit of a serial killer with a bladed glove in their dreams, in which if they die, it kills them in real life. This is one of Craven's best,
Englund is terrific as Freddy Krueger, the role he was born to play, Langenkamp and Saxon are also great and who can forget Charles Bernstein's classic score. Freddy is one of the most iconic film characters and is my favorite of slashers, Jason Voorhees, Michael
Myers & etc. - DirectorWes CravenStarsNeve CampbellCourteney CoxDavid ArquetteA year after the murder of her mother, a teenage girl is terrorized by a masked killer who targets her and her friends by using scary movies as part of a deadly game. This is one of Craven's best along with "A Nightmare on Elm Street" that redefined the genre and Ghostface has become another popular killer since.
- DirectorSam RaimiStarsBruce CampbellEllen SandweissRichard DeManincorFive friends travel to a cabin in the woods, where they unknowingly release flesh-possessing demons. They definitely don't make them like this anymore and this campy classic put Campbell on the map as one of the most iconic characters, Ash.
- DirectorJohn CarpenterStarsDonald PleasenceJamie Lee CurtisTony MoranFifteen years after murdering his sister on Halloween night 1963, Michael Myers escapes from a mental hospital and returns to the small town of Haddonfield, Illinois to kill again. This forever changed the holiday, Pleasence was terrific as Loomis, Curtis is great as Laurie and Castle is creepy as Michael. Michael Myers has since become one of the most popular killers in film history and who can forget Carpenter's chilling score.
- DirectorTommy Lee WallaceStarsTom AtkinsStacey NelkinDan O'HerlihyKids all over America want Silver Shamrock masks for Halloween. Doctor Daniel Challis seeks to uncover a plot by Silver Shamrock owner Conal Cochran.I've always liked this film and think it's very underrated. O'Herlihy was terrific as Cochran, Atkins is great as usual and John Carpenter & Alan Howarth's score is excellent. Many people dislike the film because Michael Myers is absent while others recognize it more each year. It was
supposed to be the first of different Halloween tales Carpenter intended, but failed. It should've been titled, "Season of the Witch," but I like that it was different and has that Halloween feel to it. - DirectorTom HollandStarsChris SarandonWilliam RagsdaleAmanda Bearse"Fright Night" sees a teenager believing that the newcomer in his neighborhood is a vampire. He turns to an actor in a television hosted horror movie show for help to deal with the undead.Jerry Dandridge is one of the best vampires in film history and Sarandon is terrific in the role. McDowall was also great as Peter who is obviously a combined tribute to horror legends, Peter Cushing and Vincent Price.

paved the way for future slasher flicks. - DirectorJoel SchumacherStarsJason PatricCorey HaimDianne WiestAfter moving to a new town, two brothers discover that the area is a haven for vampires. This is one of the best vampire films with a good cast, terrific make-up by Greg Cannom and great score by Thomas Newman.

- DirectorFred DekkerStarsAndre GowerRobby KigerStephen MachtA group of young monster fanatics attempts to save their hometown from Count Dracula and his monsters.Who can forget this 80's classic? I've liked it since I was a kid and the fact that it unites all the original monster legends, Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolfman, The Mummy and Gill-Man in one film.
- DirectorFred DekkerStarsJason LivelyTom AtkinsSteve MarshallAlien brain parasites, entering humans through the mouth, turn their host into a killing zombie. good, grotesque make-up effects. - DirectorTony MaylamStarsBrian MatthewsLeah AyresBrian BackerA former summer camp caretaker, horribly burned from a prank gone wrong, lurks around an upstate New York summer camp bent on killing the teenagers responsible for his disfigurement. This is a good 80's slasher flick that also followed in the footsteps of "Friday the 13th" with gruesome make-up effects by Tom Savini as usual and a good score by Rick Wakeman.
- DirectorTom HollandStarsCatherine HicksChris SarandonAlex VincentA struggling single mother unknowingly gifts her son a doll imbued with a serial killer's consciousness.Chucky is one of the creepiest movie killers and Dourif is great as the voice. The rest of the cast is also good and Joe Ranzetti's score is eerie.
- DirectorTod BrowningKarl FreundStarsBela LugosiHelen ChandlerDavid MannersTransylvanian vampire Count Dracula bends a naive real estate agent to his will, then takes up residence at a London estate where he sleeps in his coffin by day and searches for potential victims by night. This is a classic with it's spooky

opinion. - DirectorGeorge WaggnerStarsClaude RainsWarren WilliamLon Chaney Jr.Larry Talbot returns to his father's castle in Wales and meets a beautiful woman.
