I'm skipping the really well known horror comedies like the Evil Dead, Shaun of the Dead and Scream movies and going for some you might overlook. Though of course the Evil Dead movies are really great too.

Some teenagers start to fight against them. The 80s were the golden age for the horror comedy. This one, along with Evil Dead II, might be the best.

Now, he must become an unrelenting sinner. Is there still hope? The Spanish know how to make funny movies. They also know how to make good horror movies. The Spanish know how to make good, funny horror movies.
- DirectorGerard JohnstoneStarsMorgana O'ReillyRima Te WiataGlen-Paul WaruA young woman is forced to return to her childhood home after being placed under house arrest, where she suspects that something evil may be lurking.Deadpan horror comedy from New Zealand. Kinda scary too. Hollywood must have loved it as well because supposedly one of the studios plans to remake it -- those Hollywood bastards.
- DirectorFrank CapraStarsCary GrantPriscilla LaneRaymond MasseyA Brooklyn writer of books on the futility of marriage risks his reputation after he decides to tie the knot. Things get even more complicated when he learns on his wedding day that his beloved maiden aunts are habitual murderers. This is a good one if you're looking for a classic. It's more of a black comedy, but it has just the right feel for Halloween.
- DirectorMichael DoughertyStarsAnna PaquinBrian CoxDylan BakerFive interwoven stories that occur on Halloween: an everyday high school principal has a secret life as a serial killer; a college virgin might have just met the guy for her; a group of teenagers pull a mean prank; a woman who loathes the night has to contend with her holiday-obsessed husband; and a mean old man meets his match with a demonic, supernatural trick-or-treater.This weird little film went straight to DVD on release but it has since developed something of a cult following. Some people might not consider it a comedy per se, but it cracked me up. One of the reasons the studio may have pulled it from theatrical release is because it's a bit too scary for and adult for younger children, but neither is it an R rated slasher or really scary film for older teenagers or the college crowd. I thought it was just right for Halloween and especially liked the ending.
- DirectorFrank HenenlotterStarsJames LorinzJoanne RitchiePatty MullenA medical student sets out to recreate his decapitated fiancée by building her a new body made of Manhattan street prostitutes.Yes, there really is a movie called Frankenhooker, and yes you should see it.

Can they save themselves, and the rest of the world from the next witch apocalypse?Another funny, Spanish horror movie, from the same guy who did Day of the Beast. This one is about a couple of stick-up artists who, while trying escape the police, run across a town of cannibal witches. Wicked, sexy and outrageous like a Spanish movie should be.
- DirectorClaudio FragassoStarsMichael Paul StephensonGeorge HardyMargo PreyA vacationing family discovers that the entire town they're visiting is inhabited by goblins, disguised as humans, who plan to eat them. This film is getting to be pretty famous now as one of the worst movies ever made. Bad can mean unwatchable, but in this case you can't take your eyes off it. It's not a horror comedy because it was not intended to be funny, which is of course why this godawful movie is one of the funniest things ever made.

This movie deserves more attention. Love how he plays that organ.
