- The 1959 World Series pitted the Los Angeles Dodgers vs. the Chicago White Sox. The Dodgers were managed by Walter Alston and featured Sandy Koufax, Don Drysale, and Duke Snyder. The White Sox were managed by Al Lopez and featured Nellie Fox, Early Wynn, & Luis Aparicio. The Series MPV was relief pitcher Larry Sherry who won 2 games and saved 2. His brother, Larry Sherry was his catcher. The Dodgers won the Series 4 to 2.
